MEET THE ARTISTS

Laura Obon

Laura Obon

Laura Obon
My work seeks to explore the relationship between art and therapy. Through the use of different mediums, I create abstract analogue and digital collages driven by the feelings that colour and geometric forms produce in me.
Strongly fascinated by Alain de Botton and J. Armstrong’s book Art as Therapy and W. Kandinsky’s Concerning the Spiritual in Art, my artistic research is centred around the therapeutic effects of art. Its power to process and alleviate the struggles of life and everything that I and our society experience. Working with abstract shapes help me immerse myself in this cathartic process and be guided by intuition and unconsciousness.
When I create a collage, I do not have a preconceived idea of the final result. Only at the end, I can visually assess the spectrum of emotions that I have been carrying and dealing with at the time of cutting, sticking and overlapping geometric shapes, whether they are analogue or digital collages.
Ultimately, my abstract compositions become part of a fascinating process in which they transform into useful tools for improving my mental and physical health and with the act of sharing this with my viewers.

Kirsten Schoon

Kirsten Schoon

Kirsten Schoon, a Dutch multidisciplinary artist based in London, has been creatively inclined since her early years, expressing herself through drawing from a young age.
After immersing herself in the world of video editing and working with brands like Nissan, Hilton and various advertising agencies, her love for visual composition kept growing, which gradually evolved into a pursuit of painting.
Inspired by the Bauhaus and Constructivism movements, as well as influential artists such as Sonia Delaunay, Sophie Taeuber-Arp, and Ben Nicholson, Kirsten's artwork boldly features graphic shapes. Her work explores the interplay of shapes and negative spaces, delving into themes of human connection and interpersonal relationships.
Kirsten is also interested in social art and and creating art for the greater good. Among her projects is a mural she crafted in Mexico, dedicated to commemorating the victims of femicide for International Women's Day.
Currently, Kirsten is in a phase of experimentation, fuelled by her growing curiosity in the realm of textiles.

Anna Tjan

Anna Tjan

Anna Tjan is a Chinese-German artist, illustrator and poet based in London. Her visual work, closely intertwined with her creative writing, is predominantly created digitally, but also incorporates watercolour, gouache and pencil drawings. Her work is inspired by nature, features recurring symbolism, her own growing vocabulary of icons and emblems, and is often populated by strong women. She is deeply interested in exploring the (often) fraught notions of womanhood.
Tjan received her BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins College Of Art and Design in 2001 and her work has been published in magazines, on greeting cards and other stationery products. In 2023 she completed her first mural.
